Brandeis University students on the Delta State campus

Delta State’s  Delta Center for Culture and Learning recently discussed the Delta’s heritage with a class from Brandeis University in Boston, Massachusetts.  The class is spending the summer at Jackson State, working with the William Winter Institute for Racial Reconciliation at Ole Miss.  They visited the Delta to learn about its Civil Rights heritage and to learn about the new Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area and the ways in which it will promote community and economic development based on cultural and natural heritage.  Ten of the fifteen class members are pictured, along with Luther Brown (far left) Director of the Delta Center for Culture and Learning.
