The Dashboard

After you login to WordPress, you will be redirected to the WordPress dashboard that will have toolbars and menu options displayed based on the level of access that you have. Below you will see high level descriptions of some of the basic toolbar and menu structures you’ll find in WordPress.

Top Toolbar

After you’ve logged into WordPress, the top toolbar will stick to the top of the website no matter where you navigate.

This toolbar will allow you to:

Edit your profile and log out

Add new posts, pages, and media

The Left Side Menu

The left side menu within the WordPress Dashboard will allow you to quickly navigate to edit areas for various features, settings, and content areas throughout the website that can be updated. The number of menu items you will see in this left side bar will depend upon your level of WordPress permissions.
