Advisement at Delta State<\/strong><\/p>\n

All incoming freshmen and transfer students at Delta State University will work with a professional academic advisor in the Office of Academic Advising, located in Roberts LaForge Library, Room 141. Professional advisors guide freshmen and transfer students with 30 or fewer transfer hours throughout their first academic year.<\/p>\n

While your advisor is here to help you navigate degree requirements, select courses, and plan for timely graduation, you are ultimately in the driver\u2019s seat of your degree. The responsibility for understanding and completing degree and graduation requirements rests with you\u2014not your advisor.<\/p>\n

Freshman students will work with a professional advisor their first year at Delta State University and be assigned to a faculty advisor beginning the first day of their sophomore year, and transfer students transition to a faculty advisor beginning the first day of their second semester.<\/p>\n
