{"id":3681,"date":"2024-02-09T14:42:04","date_gmt":"2024-02-09T20:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/planetarium\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=3681"},"modified":"2024-02-29T12:41:51","modified_gmt":"2024-02-29T18:41:51","slug":"ceu-teachers-workshop-eclipse-and-sun-science","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/planetarium\/event\/ceu-teachers-workshop-eclipse-and-sun-science\/","title":{"rendered":"CEU Teacher&#8217;s Workshop: Eclipse and Sun Science"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In preparation for the April 8 solar eclipse, DSU continuing education, in partnership with the Wiley Planetarium, will host &#8216;Eclipse and Sun Science Teacher&#8217;s Workshop&#8217; for K-8 teachers.<\/p>\n<p>Date\/Time:\u00a0 Friday March 22, 9AM-3PM OR Saturday March 23, 9AM-3PM (indicate your preference when registering)<\/p>\n<p>Cost: $25\u00a0 &#8211; Includes 0.5 CEU Credits<\/p>\n<p>The workshop will include instructions and hands-on activities, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Building solar eclipse models<\/li>\n<li>Exploration of magnetism and\u00a0 mathematics related to the Sun and eclipses<\/li>\n<li>Ideas for STEM activities related to Sun and eclipses<\/li>\n<li>How to reproduce these experiences with your students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first 10 teachers who register will\u00a0 receive a free pack of 30 eclipse glasses for safe solar eclipse viewing with their students. All registered\u00a0 teachers are eligible for discounted tickets\u00a0 for their\u00a0 class at a future Wiley Planetarium show.<\/p>\n<p>Pre-registration is required.
