The annual F. E. Woodall Conference, hosted by Delta State University’s Robert E. Smith School of Nursing and Health Sciences<\/a>, serves both students and professionals by providing essential information, support, and networking opportunities to helping professionals in the region. The conference offers professionals in a variety of helping fields the opportunity to attend interesting and informative workshops at a nominal cost. The conference began in 1981, under the direction of Dr. Fred E. Woodall, a previous and highly admired professor.<\/p>\n

Keynote speakers have included seven American Counseling Association Presidents, an international innovator\/inventor, and other nationally recognized leaders in the field of counseling. Students and professionals spend the day selecting from over 30 peer-reviewed, continuing education content sessions. Presenters are often faculty and students from Delta State and other universities as well as leading professionals in the field. Advanced students have the opportunity to present with their faculty members.<\/p>\n

Our Delta Sigma Upsilon Honor Society, Chi Sigma Iota, will benefit from the funding of the conference and will be able to do service for the community, attend national conferences, and attend other continuing education opportunities![\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”30″][\/tab][tab icon_family=”none” title=”Submit a Proposal” id=”1774548697218-0″ tab_id=”1774548697222-4″][vc_column_text]About Conference Proposals<\/strong><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Proposals now closed. Smith School of Nursing and Health Sciences invites you to be a part of this exciting conference by offering a 60-minute presentation on a topic of your choice related to the helping professions. The electronic form linked below walks you through each step of the proposal process, including detailed instructions for creating a session abstract and objectives.<\/p>\n

Due to the nature of providing contact hours to a number of disciplines, the program, presenter information, and specified learning objectives must be included with each submission. This information enables us to meet the continuing education requirements for different organizations, making your presentation useful to a broader range of participants. We do not \u201ctheme\u201d this conference; rather, we encourage topics that meet the needs of a variety of helping professionals to foster more integrated work & care.<\/p>\n
