CLEVELAND, Miss. \u2014<\/strong> The Delta State University delegation of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) demonstrated excellence at the State Leadership Conference held recently at Northwest Community College. This year marks a historic achievement as all participants from DSU have advanced to the national competition, marking only the second time this feat has been accomplished in the chapter’s history. Additionally, Fa\u2019Darryl Cooper has been elected as the Mississippi FBLA Collegiate President for the 2024-2025 term, a testament to his leadership abilities and dedication to the organization, and a first for Delta State.<\/p>\n

The DSU FBLA participants and their respective areas of competition and achievements are as follows:<\/p>\n

Fa\u2019 Darryl Cooper – Marketing<\/p>\n

Arianna Chesnut – MBA<\/p>\n

Caitlin Norris – MBA<\/p>\n

Samara Brown – Healthcare Administration<\/p>\n

Semira Brown – Healthcare Administration<\/p>\n

LaTamara Oubre – Healthcare Administration<\/p>\n

Amyia Triggs – Family Consumer Science<\/p>\n

A\u2019Mya Williams – General Business \/ Human Resources<\/p>\n

These accomplished students have secured impressive rankings across various competitions, including 1st places in job interviews, business ethics, foundations of marketing, and project management. Noteworthy achievements also include 2nd places in emerging business issues and business presentations, among others.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on his election as the Mississippi Collegiate President, Cooper expressed his gratitude. He attributed the group\u2019s success to rigorous preparation, including mock presentations, study sessions, and the invaluable guidance of their advisor, Dr. Tomeka Harbin, Interim Dean of the College of Business and Aviation.<\/p>\n

Delta State’s FBLA chapter motto, “standing on business,” epitomizes their commitment to excellence. Cooper expressed confidence in the team’s ability to excel further, saying, “We will place in every category and have more people competing in various competitions.”<\/p>\n

DSU’s FBLA participants continue to be shining ambassadors for the university, earning recognition across the state as formidable competitors. As they prepare for the Nationals scheduled from June 24th to 27th in Orlando, Florida, the DSU community extends its heartfelt wishes for their continued success.<\/p>\n
