CLEVELAND, Miss. \u2014<\/strong> The Delta State Alumni Association and Foundation will be hosting its 2nd Statesmen Sweetheart Social February 9 at 6 p.m. in the Leroy Morganti Atrium of Kent Wyatt Hall. This fundraising event is for any couples with a Delta State connection, especially those who met at DSU. Cleveland R&B\/Soul duo Variety will perform, with catering provided by Sodexo.<\/p>\n

Caroline Alderson, Annual Giving Coordinator for the DSU Foundation said, “Statesmen Sweetheart Social is an event to benefit the Delta State Fund and Alumni Association. This event is a way for people, who have a love for Delta State, to experience a Valentine’s theme date night by enjoying live music, heavy hors devours, and raffle items.”<\/p>\n

At last year\u2019s inaugural event, around 30 couples from as far away as Senatobia and Jackson attended.\u00a0 Director of Alumni Affairs Corley Mullins said, \u201cWe had couples that had been married less than a year, and one that had been married for 50 years. The feedback we got was overwhelmingly positive and everyone said they hoped that the event would be a yearly thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
