CLEVELAND, Miss. \u2014<\/strong> The Delta State University Department of Music will present Emily Hargett in her Senior Saxophone Recital on November 30 at 1:35 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The recital is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Hargett, a senior Music Education major from Charleston studies with Dr. Bret Pimentel, Professor of Music. Hargett transferred from Northwest Mississippi Community College, where she studied under Jennifer Whitehead.<\/p>\n

Pimentel said, \u201cEmily is a bright and promising future music educator and has worked very hard preparing this recital. It is sure to be an outstanding performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since entering DSU in 2021, Hargett has been involved with the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Saxophone Quartet, World Percussion Group, and Flute Ensemble. She is also a member of the National Association for Music Education, Phi Theta Kappa Honor\u2019s Society, Mu Phi Epsilon, and Pi Kappa Lambda Honor\u2019s Society.<\/p>\n

Hargett will be performing compositions by Fisher Tull, Ryo Noda, Paule Maurice, and Heitor Villa-Lobos.<\/p>\n
