{"id":936,"date":"2009-01-07T10:36:06","date_gmt":"2009-01-07T10:36:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2009\/01\/07\/delta-state-continuing-ed-offers-new-line-up-of-classes-for-spring\/"},"modified":"2013-09-03T12:55:28","modified_gmt":"2013-09-03T12:55:28","slug":"delta-state-continuing-ed-offers-new-line-up-of-classes-for-spring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2009\/01\/delta-state-continuing-ed-offers-new-line-up-of-classes-for-spring\/","title":{"rendered":"Delta State Continuing Ed offers new line-up of classes for spring"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span>Delta<\/span><span> State University<\/span><span>&rsquo;s Graduate and Continuing Studies will offer a new line-up of classes for the spring semester that includes a World of the New Testament Lecture Series and an After School Arts Program for students in grades 1 through6.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span>The New Testament Lecture Series will cover Alexander, the successor kingdoms, the Maccabean revolt and the relation between Rome and its provinces and client kingdoms.&nbsp;The cultural section of the course will cover the literary heritage and expectations of the Hellenic world<span>,<\/span> as well as religious movements that early Christians encountered<span>.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span>Aaron Rowley will be the instructor for the lecture series<span>, <\/span>and it is scheduled to meet each Thursday<span>,<\/span> Jan. 15, 22, 29, and Feb. 5, 12, and 19 from 6 to7:30 p.m. in Room 137 of Kethley Hall on campus.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span>The<span> r<\/span>egistration fee is $45<span>, <\/span>and the deadline to register is Wednesday, Jan. 14.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span>In the After School Arts Program, children will be encouraged to discover their creative side. Beginners<span>,<\/span> as well as advanced students<span>,<\/span> will be instructed on techniques used to create individual works of art.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span>Allegra Cope will be the instructor for the program<span>, <\/span>and it is scheduled to meet on Tuesdays from Jan. 27 to April 28 in Room 112 of the Wright Art Building on campus.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span>Students in grades 1through3 will meet from 3:15 to4:15 p.m.<span>,<\/span> and students in grades 4through 6 will meet from 4:20 to 5:20 p.m.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span>The fee is $115<span>,<\/span> which includes materials.
