Nominees for the award must be graduates of the Department of Music and display excellence in their field. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Douglas L. Mark, Professor of Trombone\/Low Brass said, \u201cThe award is given to an outstanding music alumnus or alumna of Delta State whose career achievements reflect a sustained level of professional excellence that all our students can aspire to.\u201d <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The award will be announced at the annual Music Honors Program and Recital, which will be held Monday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m.\u00a0at the Bologna Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Past award recipients have included performers, composers, music administrators, and music educators from K-12 to higher education.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Interim Associate Chair of Music\u00a0Dr. Julia Thorn said, “The annual Music Honors Program and Recital is an event that our department eagerly anticipates each year as we celebrate our outstanding students and alumni.
