CLEVELAND, Miss. \u2014<\/strong> The Bolivar County Historical Society held its monthly meeting Monday, Feb. 13 at the Charles W. Capps, Jr. Archives & Museum. Former DSU Dean of Graduate and Continuing Studies and current owner of Moonstruck Flea Market in Cleveland, Dr. Beverly Moon was the guest speaker. Dr. Moon talked to the Society about how she determines the value of items under consideration for her store, and what makes an item vintage or historical.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf somebody wanted it once,\u201d she said, \u201csomebody\u2019s probably going to want it again.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Moon became interested in older things and the resale market as a young mother, outfitting a nursery by shopping at yard sales. As time went on, she grew her business from a booth at a flea market in Flowood into a local business that fills an important niche in the community. Society members learned about the ways to find items of significance at an estate sale or yard sale, and online resources for determining an item’s monetary value.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
