CLEVELAND, Miss.\u2014Grammy-winning Country Superstar Clint Black will perform on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bologna Performing Arts Center (BPAC) at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi.<\/p>\n
It has been three decades since the release of Clint Black\u2019s groundbreaking debut album,\u00a0Killin\u2019 Time<\/em>. The genre-altering record cemented the Country music icon as one of the truest traditionalists in the game and his widespread influence can still be felt in the works of artists today. Now, the seemingly unstoppable legend has recently released his incredible 23rd<\/sup> album, Out of Sane<\/em>. The record, self-produced by Black, not only stays true to sounds that birthed Country music but also progresses the genre to today\u2019s sensibilities.<\/p>\n Having earned 22 #1 career singles, nearly two dozen gold and platinum awards (U.S. and Canada), a Grammy Award, numerous CMA, ACM and American Music Awards, Clint Black has had one of the most storied careers in modern music. The Houston raised musician has certainly come a long way from the Texas nightclub circuit where he first began.<\/p>\n In his latest effort,\u00a0Out of Sane<\/em>, Black continues to hold firm in making great music that doesn\u2019t fit a mold or conform to current popularity.<\/p>\n \u201cI try to make records that don\u2019t fit into a trend,\u201d explains the producer\/guitarist. \u201cI never wanted to start a trend, and I\u2019m not going to chase a trend, either. To me, a great band will always sound great, today and in ten years. If you listen to this record, it\u2019s not about fitting into today\u2019s country, or yesterday\u2019s country, or tomorrow\u2019s country, it just is.\u201d<\/p>\n The Grammy-winning Country superstar, understands that people consume music in the real world; but to create something that endures, a whole lot of lab time is required. Laughing, he explains the album\u2019s title \u2013 a lyric from the road boogie \u201cWhat I Knew Then\u201d — comes from the dual states of mind that come into play with making records.<\/p>\n \u201cI have a studio on my property, so I can walk out there and never finish working because I have this passion for it. But so many hours can drive me insane: I don\u2019t sleep, I\u2019m exhausted and completely consumed. It\u2019s like a radio that clicks on in my sleep, to get up and get back to work.\u00a0The music comes out of the sane part of me, and the record itself the insane…\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0The lead track from\u00a0Out of Sane<\/em>\u00a0is the unadorned piano ballad \u201cAmerica (Still\u00a0In\u00a0Love With You),\u201d which is\u00a0currently available on all digital streaming platforms.
