CLEVELAND, Miss.\u2014<\/b> Undergraduate students at Delta State University may be eligible for an upcoming aid opportunity made possible through a $3.5 million grant awarded to the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid by the Governor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Governor\u2019s Emergency Educational Relief Fund Summer Grant Program (GEER) is designed to make one-time supplemental grants during the Summer 2022 term to continuing college students affected by the pandemic. The summer grants will help students stay on track for graduation or catch up if they have fallen behind.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The application dates for Summer 2022 are Feb. 1 through April 30. The application is available online at www.msfinancialaid.org\/geer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To be eligible, students must: be a Mississippi resident; be a continuing college student with at least 12 hours as of Fall 2021 (does not include high school\/dual enrollment credits); have a minimum 2.0 cumulative college GPA; complete the GEER application; complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA and have an EFC below 15,000; be enrolled in at least 3 hours in a bachelor\u2019s degree program during Summer 2022.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To apply, students should complete the online application<\/a>. Students must complete the GEER application (even if they have already completed a 2022-2023 Mississippi Aid Application); complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA; and submit required supporting documents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

New applicants and some renewal applicants with a break in enrollment may be required to submit two forms of residency documentation: FAFSA and a Mississippi driver\u2019s license (can be submitted electronically during the online application). Alternate documents include: State Tax Return (NOT Federal) for the current tax filing year; Homestead Exemption; Voter Registration; and Vehicle Registration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
