This year\u2019s theme is \u201cHot Topics in Social Work Field Education.\u201d DSU Social Work faculty will present on the topics \u201cCreating Effective Burnout Prevention Plans\u201d and \u201cCreating Effective Professional Learning Plans\u201d during the event. Up to three continuing education credits (2 general, 1 ethics) will be provided to attendees for only $40.<\/p>\n

\u201cField Instructor Training offers an authentic approach allowing for engagement, reflection, observation and communication between our faculty and our field instructors and community partners,” said Loretta Jackson, Instructor of Social Work.<\/p>\n

“Field instructor training is beneficial because it provides an opportunity to learn the foundation, mission, and objectives of field education. It also creates space for self-reflection on one’s reason for becoming a social worker and what it means to leave a lasting impression on the students and wider profession,” adds Jackson.<\/p>\n

The event is open to all current and past field instructors and to the wider public. Anyone interested in becoming a social work field instructor is encouraged to attend.\u00a0The deadline to pre-register is Jan. 1, 2022.<\/p>\n
