Each year, the DSU Staff Council organizes a Feed-a-Family Food Drive in the weeks leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday. This year\u2019s food drive ran from Oct. 6 to Nov. 6 and was supported by Delta State staff members from various departments and offices across campus.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the drive, 61 complete food bags, stuffed with Thanksgiving favorites including ham, stuffing, cranberry sauce and vegetables, were collected.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Delta State Staff Council was honored to host our annual Thanksgiving Feed-A-Family program again this year.\u00a0The generous donations provided by our DSU Family helped us to\u00a0surpass last year\u2019s contributions,\u201d said Holly Ray, chair of Staff Council\u2019s Special Projects Committee.<\/p>\n

According to Ray, a total of 56 bags, plus an additional 413 additional food items, were donated to the Bolivar County Family & Children\u2019s Services. Five bags were also donated to members of the Delta State community.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so thrilled to have been a part of this project for such a great cause, and I look forward to participating in future opportunities for us to give back,” said Ray.<\/p>\n

Delta State\u2019s Administrative Staff Council serves as a liaison between the administration and the staff to provide a formal process for staff to discuss issues involving university policies and procedures, and to forward ideas, recommendations and options to the university president.<\/p>\n

The Staff Council is dedicated to excellence in service and the continued growth and development of Delta State University.<\/p>\n
