The 35th<\/sup> annual Pig Pickin\u2019 is set for Sept. 10-11 and will be highlighted by the second home football game featuring the Statesmen v. McKendree University.<\/p>\n

The 89th<\/sup> annual Homecoming weekend celebration is slated for Oct. 29-30 as the Statesmen football team hosts Shorter University.<\/p>\n

“We can\u2019t wait to see you on campus at Pig Pickin\u2019 in September and Homecoming in late October!\u201d said John Fletcher (’91), president of the Delta State Alumni Association\u2019s Board of Directors. \u201cThe Alumni Association has a number of great events planned for each weekend, and we\u2019re looking forward to reconnecting and catching up with everyone in-person.\u201d<\/p>\n

With plenty of activities for the entire family, this year\u2019s highly anticipated Pig Pickin\u2019 event will also feature the Delta BBQ Battle, a Memphis Barbeque Network (MBN) sanctioned BBQ competition.<\/p>\n

Alumni Homecoming events will kick off with the annual Alumni Gala on Friday, Oct. 29, which will celebrate the class of 1971 upon its 50th anniversary and recognize the Outstanding Alumnus of the Year, Alumni Hall of Fame honorees and other service award winners.<\/p>\n
