{"id":87731,"date":"2021-04-23T13:01:04","date_gmt":"2021-04-23T18:01:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/?p=87731"},"modified":"2021-04-23T13:01:04","modified_gmt":"2021-04-23T18:01:04","slug":"delta-state-to-expand-community-access-begin-observance-of-summer-hours-on-may-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2021\/04\/delta-state-to-expand-community-access-begin-observance-of-summer-hours-on-may-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Delta State to expand community access, begin observance of summer hours on  May 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>CLEVELAND, Miss.\u2014<\/strong> As more individuals are becoming vaccinated and COVID-19 infection numbers continue to decrease, Delta State University will begin to expand community access to campus facilities while continuing its observance of COVID-19 protocols.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Beginning Monday, May 3, Delta State will re-open facilities, including its natatorium, basketball gym, racquetball courts, tennis courts and fitness center, to registered community users.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the University will also resume the rental of campus facilities to the public, as outlined by its facility reservation policy.<\/p>\n<p>Delta State\u2019s CFO &amp; Vice President for Finance &amp; Administration James Rutledge said the university is looking forward to re-opening campus facilities and amenities to community members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate the continued support of our campus and the surrounding community in adhering to our DSU COVID-19 protocols,\u201d said Delta State\u2019s CFO &amp; Vice President for Finance &amp; Administration James Rutledge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven the decrease in cases, along with the increasing number of individuals being vaccinated, University administration felt it was the appropriate time to relax some of our COVID-19 restrictions in compliance with guidelines from the CDC and the Mississippi State Department of Health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the University transitions to summer hours on Monday, May 3 (7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, closed on Fridays), the Chick-Fil-A and Firehouse Subs, located in the H.L.
