{"id":87662,"date":"2021-04-09T08:43:48","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T13:43:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/?p=87662"},"modified":"2021-04-12T08:44:33","modified_gmt":"2021-04-12T13:44:33","slug":"dsu-concert-bands-to-perform-during-crosstie-arts-jazz-festival-april-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2021\/04\/dsu-concert-bands-to-perform-during-crosstie-arts-jazz-festival-april-16\/","title":{"rendered":"DSU Concert Bands to perform during Crosstie Arts &#038; Jazz Festival April 16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>CLEVELAND, Miss.\u2014<\/strong> In celebration of music, the arts and the return of spring, the Delta State University Concert Bands will present an outdoor community concert, featuring an engaging and entertaining repertoire, beginning at 6:30 pm on Friday, April 16 on the green space in downtown Cleveland, Mississippi.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->This concert is in partnership with this year\u2019s Crosstie Arts &amp; Jazz Festival.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDue to restrictions put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Delta State Concert Bands have not been able to perform in over a year,\u201d said Assistant Director of Bands, Josh Armstrong \u201cWe are excited to bring this performance to the people of Cleveland to help create a happy, light-hearted experience similar to community band concerts of days gone by.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crosstie President Michelle Fuquay says, \u201cWe are excited this year to be partnering with Cleveland\u2019s Delta Roots Music Project and the Delta Arts Alliance to feature several artists through \u2018mini-Crosstie&#8217; events in conjunction with the live music concerts downtown.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and friends to welcome this celebration of music and the arts. Social distancing guidelines are recommended.
