The Bologna Performing Arts Center at Delta State University is offering arts education boxes and books for children ages 5-8 for the upcoming fall semester. The program functions like a subscription-based service, so families can choose the frequency and price level of boxes they would like to receive for the months of September, October, and November.<\/p>\n
Boxes will be distributed twice monthly on the 15th<\/sup> and 30th <\/sup>and will include two arts projects, step-by-step instructions for project completion, and links to how-to videos available online, as well as a children\u2019s book that complements each box\u2019s theme. The how-to videos will be pre-recorded and made available online, so families can work through the projects on their own schedule and will not need access to webcams or audio equipment.<\/p>\n This semester\u2019s theme for the subscription boxes will be \u201cOur Community\u201d and will encourage children and their families to explore everything our great Delta communities have to offer. Boxes will integrate arts lessons featuring elements like one-point perspective, color theory, impressionism from Van Gogh and Monet, as well as tie-ins to the community, like transportation, agriculture, and architecture. Each box will contain all needed materials for project completion, as well as opportunities to explore specific outdoor locations in Cleveland and other Delta areas.<\/p>\n Box subscriptions are limited and payment must be received upfront. Pricing begins at $10 per box. In order to process registration for the first month\u2019s boxes, the arts education office must receive your family\u2019s order form and payment by Sept. 1. The first box will be available for pickup at the BPAC on Tuesday, Sept. 15. There will be an additional shipping fee per box if families would like the boxes shipped to their houses.
