The season kicks off with Kansas, on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 7:30 PM at BPAC at Delta State University. <!--more-->The concert is locally sponsored by Needle Specialty. Tickets start at $65 and are on sale at the BPAC Ticket Office, by phone 662-846-4626, or online <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bolognapac.com\">www.bolognapac.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With a legendary career spanning more than four decades, Kansas has firmly established itself as one of America\u2019s iconic classic rock bands. This &#8220;garage band&#8221; from Topeka released their debut album in 1974, after being discovered by Wally Gold, who worked for Don Kirshner, and have gone on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Composing a catalogue that includes 15 studio albums and five live albums, Kansas has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-platinum albums (<em>Leftoverture<\/em>, <em>Point of Know Return<\/em>, <em>Best of Kansas<\/em>), one platinum live album (<em>Two for the Show<\/em>), and two one million-selling gold singles, \u201cCarry on Wayward Son\u201d and \u201cDust in the Wind.\u201d Kansas appeared on the Billboard charts for more than 200 weeks throughout the \u201970s and \u201980s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. \u201cCarry on Wayward Son\u201d continues to be one of the top five most played songs on classic rock radio, and \u201cDust In the Wind\u201d has been played on the radio more than three million times!<\/p>\n<p>Along with constant touring, Kansas continues to remain a fixture of classic rock radio.
