Woodall Spring Conference for the Helping Professions on April 12"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Delta State University\u2019s Division of Counselor Education and Psychology\u2019s 38<sup>th<\/sup> annual F. E. Woodall Spring Conference for the Helping Professions will take place on April 12.<!--more--> The conference boasts 38 breakout continuing education sessions and a keynote address. The event provides continuing education for counselors, social workers, psychologists, and other helping professions to receive quality, affordable continuing education opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The Woodall Conference has grown to welcome approximately 300 attendees a year. Participants drive in from Mississippi, Tennessee, and Louisiana. The presenters are private practitioners, state professionals, and faculty members from 10 universities and colleges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to represent Delta State each year with our Woodall Conference,\u201d said Dr. Cat Vincent, counselor education instructor and conference coordinator. \u201cIt\u2019s an honor to be able to bring excellence in continuing education to our region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The keynote presenter, Edward Franc Hudspeth, will present on the topic of neuroethics. He is an associate dean of counseling at Southern New Hampshire University. He is editor of the <em>International Journal of Play Therapy<\/em> and the <em>Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision<\/em> as well as an editorial board member for the <em>Journal of Creativity in Mental Health<\/em>, <em>The Professional Counselor<\/em>, and the Journal of Counseling Research and Practice. He a member of multiple national associations and serves as vice president of the Association for Creativity in Counseling, chair of the Association for Play Therapy\u2019s Foundation board of directors, and on several other national committees. He is also the incoming president of the Mississippi Association for Play Therapy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of our attendees have begun their careers with a degree from Delta State, and we are happy to continue their education as we contribute to these professional developments of helping professionals across the state Mississippi,\u201d said George Beals, program coordinator and assistant professor in counselor education.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets cost $70.
