Since lead singer Mike Love penned the lyrics to The Beach Boys\u2019 first hit, \u201cSurfin\u2019\u201d (1961), dozens of the band\u2019s chart-toppers have become symbols of Californian lifestyle and anthems of American youth: \u201cSurfin\u2019 USA,\u201d \u201cSurfer Girl,\u201d \u201cFun, Fun, Fun,\u201d \u201cI Get Around,\u201d \u201cCalifornia Girls,\u201d \u201cHelp Me, Rhonda,\u201d \u201cBarbara Ann,\u201d \u201cGood Vibrations,\u201d \u201cWouldn\u2019t It Be Nice,\u201d \u201cRock and Roll Music\u201d and \u201cKokomo.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Beach Boys have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and have received more than 30 Recording Industry Association of America platinum and gold records. They\u2019re members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and were honored at the 2001 Grammy Awards with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best of The Beach Boys<\/em>, Capitol\/EMI\u2019s 30-track collection of the band\u2019s biggest hits, has achieved triple-platinum success\u2014sales of more than three million copies in the U.S. since its release. With more than five decades of touring under their belts, The Beach Boys have performed more concerts than any major rock band in history.<\/p>\n The Beach Boys are led by Love and Bruce Johnston, who along with Jeffrey Foskett, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill, Keith Hubacher, Scott Totten, and Christian Love continue the legacy of America\u2019s iconic band.
