{"id":79009,"date":"2018-02-21T06:54:55","date_gmt":"2018-02-21T12:54:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/?p=79009"},"modified":"2018-02-21T06:54:55","modified_gmt":"2018-02-21T12:54:55","slug":"bolivar-county-crawfish-boil-scheduled-may-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2018\/02\/bolivar-county-crawfish-boil-scheduled-may-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Bolivar County Crawfish Boil scheduled for May 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Delta State University Bolivar County Alumni Chapter recently announced May 3 as the date for this year&#8217;s annual Bolivar County Crawfish Boil.<\/p>\n<p>The Delta State University National Alumni Association, along with the Bolivar County Alumni Chapter officers, hosted an information table to announce the event during\u00a0Bolivar County Alumni Night at Walter Sillers Coliseum on Feb 1.<\/p>\n<p>To pre-purchases tickets to the event, visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastategiving.org\/alumniassociation\/bolivarcountycrawfishboil\">https:\/\/www.deltastategiving.org\/alumniassociation\/bolivarcountycrawfishboil<\/a>. The annual affair features\u00a0live entertainment, a kids zone area, exceptional food and a silent auction to raise money for the Liza Vaughn Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is given to students who attend Delta State as freshmen and are Bolivar County residents.<\/p>\n<p>Those wishing to serve on the crawfish boil committee are asked to email <a href=\"mailto:alumni@deltastate.edu\">alumni@deltastate.edu<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p>The 2018 Bolivar County officers are: Gary Crews, president; Shane Howell, vice president; and Tricia Killebrew, secretary\/treasurer.<\/p>\n<p>More details about the crawfish boil will be released as the date approaches.<\/p>\n<p>To stay up to date with Alumni Association\u2019s activities, follow these social media outlets: Facebook (Statesmen Graduates), Twitter (@DSU_Alumni), LinkedIn Group (Delta State University National Alumni Association), Instagram (dsualumni) and You Tube (dsualumni1).
