{"id":78335,"date":"2018-01-18T12:41:17","date_gmt":"2018-01-18T18:41:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/?p=78335"},"modified":"2018-01-18T12:41:17","modified_gmt":"2018-01-18T18:41:17","slug":"git-center-highlighted-trajectory-magazine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2018\/01\/git-center-highlighted-trajectory-magazine\/","title":{"rendered":"GIT Center highlighted in Trajectory Magazine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Talbot Brooks, director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Geospatial Information Technologies at Delta State University, recently helped publish a special edition of Trajectory Magazine, the official magazine of the Unites States Geospatial Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Circulation for the major publication is about 100,000, and work from Delta State students is also highlighted in the magazine.<\/p>\n<p>Brooks served as a contributor and subject matter expert for the magazine. Many of the articles published in the edition were the brainchildren of Brooks and Keith Masback, USGIF executive director.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrajectory Magazine is the leading trade journal in our industry,\u201d said Brooks. \u201cIt\u2019s distribution has soared to well over 100,000 readers in the defense, intelligence and geospatial industries.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Delta State\u2019s unique GIT center is mentioned throughout the magazine for its efforts of strengthening community resilience and situational awareness. A review of the center\u2019s book, \u201cGIS for Critical Infrastructure Protection,\u201d is also part of the special issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re really one of a very select few working in this domain and mentioned in the special issue,\u201d said Brooks. \u201cWe\u2019re keeping company with George Mason, University of Chicago, UT Dallas and the University of Pittsburg. Further, the latter focus on research and development, whereas we focus on application and implementation.
