{"id":74741,"date":"2017-04-03T08:14:27","date_gmt":"2017-04-03T13:14:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/?p=74741"},"modified":"2017-04-03T08:14:27","modified_gmt":"2017-04-03T13:14:27","slug":"dar-story-emmett-till-coming-bpac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2017\/04\/dar-story-emmett-till-coming-bpac\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cDar He: The Story of Emmett Till\u201d coming to BPAC"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6 class=\"p1\">Mike Wiley will perform his one-actor drama in a free community performance on April 4.<\/h6>\n<p>The Bologna Performing Arts Center will host a special evening of theatre and conversation on April 4 at 7 p.m. when documentary theater playwright and actor Mike Wiley will bring his performance \u201cDar He: The Story of Emmett Till\u201d to the stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The performance is co-presented by the BPAC and Delta State University\u2019s Winning the Race Conference, and is funded in part by a grant from the Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This riveting play chronicles the murder, trial and unbelievable confession of the men accused of Till&#8217;s lynching. The one-actor, multiple-character original drama will be 90 minutes long, with a post performance discussion with Wiley.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The event is free and open to the public, and all advanced tickets have already sold out. All advanced ticketholders must be seated by 6:45 p.m. in order to have a guaranteed seat.
