{"id":74560,"date":"2017-03-27T08:00:32","date_gmt":"2017-03-27T13:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/?p=74560"},"modified":"2018-04-02T09:09:49","modified_gmt":"2018-04-02T14:09:49","slug":"full-slate-summer-courses-available-delta-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2017\/03\/full-slate-summer-courses-available-delta-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Full slate of summer courses available at Delta State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Summer at Delta State University offers a number of opportunities for students to stay on track on their path to graduation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cSummer school is a great way to get ahead with coursework, catch up on credits, boost your GPA and get pre-requisites out of the way,\u201d said Dr. Christy Riddle, executive director of the Student Success Center at Delta State. \u201cTaking one or two courses each summer may allow you to graduate sooner and start your career earlier \u2014 which leads to earning a salary instead of paying college tuition.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/summerschool\">A full\u00a0list of courses offered during Summer I and Summer II sessions<\/a>\u00a0is available online.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Instead of taking a course for four months during the fall or spring semesters, summer school courses are condensed to five weeks. The university offers online and on-campus courses in a variety of subjects that count towards general education requirements or for specific majors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cMoving home for the summer? No problem,\u201d said Riddle. \u201cDSU\u2019s online courses allow students to take classes from anywhere in the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Students can also go ahead and register for summer courses during Pre-Registration Week from April 3-7.
