{"id":73652,"date":"2017-02-01T10:09:14","date_gmt":"2017-02-01T16:09:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/?p=73652"},"modified":"2017-02-01T10:10:55","modified_gmt":"2017-02-01T16:10:55","slug":"wired-sound-offers-live-music-cleveland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2017\/02\/wired-sound-offers-live-music-cleveland\/","title":{"rendered":"Wired For Sound offers live music in Cleveland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a continuing effort to develop regular live music opportunities in the area, the Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with students in the Delta Music Institute entertainment industry studies program at Delta State University, have launched a &#8220;Wired For Sound&#8221; 12-week series\u00a0of live music events.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>For 12 consecutive weeks, local venues will\u00a0will feature local talent performing a well-known repertoire of popular music, plus original songs in several acoustic-based genres, including Americana, blues, country, folk, R&amp;B, and singer\/songwriter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The DMI performers will be scheduled on a rotating basis in the early evening or midday hours for the enjoyment of local patrons and visitors of\u00a0the Delta. Participating restaurants include Mississippi Grounds, The Warehouse, Crawdad&#8217;s, Airport Grocery and Hey Joe&#8217;s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The series is funded by a partnership between Chamber member venues and the Chamber itself, and through proceeds from the Chamber&#8217;s\u00a0Restaurant Week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This week&#8217;s live music offerings include:<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\">*Feb. 1 \u2014 Kacee Russell \u201411:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Mississippi Grounds<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\">*Feb. 2\u00a0\u2014 Spencer Day\u00a0\u2014 6-8:00 p.m.\u00a0at Airport Grocery<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\">*Feb. 3\u00a0\u2014Kailey Mathis \u00a0\u2014 6-8:00 p.m. at The Warehouse<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Musicians scheduled to be part of the initial &#8220;Wired For Sounds&#8221; series include: Carrie Lynn Stanford (singer\/songwriter, Americana\/folk), Brennan Barham (singer\/songwriter), Jessica Faith (singer\/songwriter, Americana, pop), Ty Nash (R&amp;B), Long Time Coming (country\/Americana\/folk trio), Kailey Mathis (singer\/songwriter), Zach Dickerson (guitar), Brittany McGee (singer\/songwriter, country, Gospel), Landen Knowles (singer\/songwriter, Americana, alternative rock), Kacee Russell (singer\/songwriter) and Spencer Day (singer\/songwriter, country).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce encourages a strong local economy by creating the best environment for businesses to thrive, citizens to live, and the\u00a0cultural heritage to flourish.\u00a0For additional information, contact the Chamber at 662-843-2712, or on the web at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clevelandmschamber.com\">http:\/\/www.clevelandmschamber.com<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The DMI is an independent center of study under the College of Arts and\u00a0Sciences at Delta State University, offering a bachelor&#8217;s\u00a0degree in entertainment industry studies.
