{"id":71454,"date":"2016-08-24T11:15:45","date_gmt":"2016-08-24T16:15:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/?p=71454"},"modified":"2016-08-24T11:15:45","modified_gmt":"2016-08-24T16:15:45","slug":"31st-annual-pig-pickin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2016\/08\/31st-annual-pig-pickin\/","title":{"rendered":"31st annual Pig Pickin&#8217; scheduled for Sept. 23-24"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Delta State University National Alumni Association is\u00a0gearing up\u00a0for the 31st annual Pig Pickin\u2019 scheduled for Sept. 23-24 at Statesmen Park.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, Pig Pickin\u2019 continues to grow in attendance, and supporters are invited to become an official sponsor of this university event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe National Alumni Association is pleased to announce the 31st annual Delta State University Pig Pickin\u2019,\u201d said Jeffrey Farris, director of Alumni Affairs. \u201cThe growth of Pig Pickin\u2019 over the past 30 years is a testament to the support of the local businesses of Cleveland, Boyle, Bolivar County and the greater Mississippi Delta region. Pig Pickin\u2019s deep rooted tradition is evident with the thousands of alumni who attend and the hundreds of volunteers involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sponsorship opportunities range from $150-$1,000+, and donations help support the event. The deadline to become a sponsor is Sept. 19.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the Alumni Association is offering a business the opportunity\u00a0to sponsor the Pig Pickin\u2019 entertainment for $2,500, which includes Friday night\u2019s headlining band, Saturday afternoon\u2019s DMI bands and DJ at the park.
