{"id":70300,"date":"2016-05-25T08:24:26","date_gmt":"2016-05-25T13:24:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/?p=70300"},"modified":"2016-05-25T08:24:27","modified_gmt":"2016-05-25T13:24:27","slug":"joel-named-employee-of-the-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2016\/05\/joel-named-employee-of-the-month\/","title":{"rendered":"Joel named Employee of the Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<p class=\"entry-title\">The Delta State University Staff Council recently honored Elizabeth Joel, coordinator of Continuing Education,\u00a0as the April\u00a02016 Employee of the Month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"entry-title\">Joel, a native of Doddsville, has been a staff member at Delta State for nearly six years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"entry-title\">&#8220;<span class=\"s1\">I am honored to receive Employee of the Month from my peers at Delta State,&#8221; said Joel. &#8220;I could not accomplish what I do without the support of the other staff members in Graduate and Continuing Studies, and those across campus who\u00a0I work with on a daily basis.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"entry-title\">She is a 2005 Delta State graduate with a degree in fashion merchandising.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">Joel\u00a0currently resides in Cleveland with her husband, Jeff Joel, and their two children, Justin (12) and Anna James (3).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/header>\n<p>Each Employee of the Month winner receives a plaque, monetary award, WalMart gift card from the Student Government Association, an engraved insulated coffee mug, a free parking decal courtesy of the Campus Police Department, a box of treats from The Sweetery, a parking spot of their choice, marquee announcement and website recognition.<\/p>\n<p>For an archived list of previous winners, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/about-dsu\/administration\/staff-council\/staff-council-employee-of-the-month\/employee-of-the-month-archives\/\">https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/about-dsu\/administration\/staff-council\/staff-council-employee-of-the-month\/employee-of-the-month-archives\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Delta State\u2019s Staff Council serves as a liaison between the administration and the staff to provide a formal process for staff to discuss issues involving university policies and procedures and to forward ideas, recommendations and opinions to the president.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Delta State University Staff Council recently honored Elizabeth Joel, coordinator of Continuing Education,\u00a0as the April\u00a02016 Employee of the Month.
