Instead of tearing tickets or guiding patrons down the aisle, BPAC Ambassadors got to be the stars of the stage Thursday as the Bologna Performing Arts Center hosted a dinner on the main stage in honor of its Ambassadors, a group of more than 60 volunteers who support all BPAC events through serving as ushers, ticket takers, greeters and more.<\/p>\n
Patrons who have ever attended a performance at the BPAC will recognize the Ambassadors\u2019 signature green jackets and vests accompanied by a helpful smile.<\/p>\n
The dinner marked the successful conclusion of the BPAC\u2019s 20th Anniversary Season this past academic year. <\/span><\/p>\n Several Ambassadors have been volunteering at the BPAC since its inaugural\u00a0season, including Rev. Jimmy Breland \u201853, who expressed his\u00a0appreciation for the program. \u201c<\/span>It is a joy and a privilege to work with such a dedicated group of volunteers from across the Delta region,\u201d said Meghann Yee, Patron Services coordinator at the BPAC. \u201cThe success of the past 20\u00a0seasons is due in part to their continued service and support of the arts at the Bologna. We are very thankful and fortunate to have such a wonderful group of Ambassadors.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n Positions are open to join the BPAC Ambassadors for the 2015-16 season, and trainings will be held in August.
