The Bologna Performing Arts Center announces the hiring of alumna Joannah Taylor ’11 as the new arts education coordinator. In this role, she will be responsible for the Janice Wyatt Mississippi Summer Arts Institute, the School-Time Matinee Series, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts \u201cPartners in Education\u201d program, as well as other education related programming.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining the BPAC, Taylor worked in the Tupelo Public School District as both an art teacher and gifted and talented teacher. Additionally, Taylor served as the project director for the Mississippi Arts Commission\u2019s Whole Schools Institute at her elementary school. She has previously been involved with the Mississippi Summer Arts Institute and the Delta Arts Alliance Artist-In-Residence program.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI am thrilled to be back in Cleveland in such a compelling role at the BPAC,\u201d said Taylor. \u201cIt is an exciting time to be involved in the arts in Cleveland, and it is an honor to be able to bring my experience to this position and to be involved with the meaningful learning that is continuing to happen.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Laura Howell, executive director of the BPAC, is excited to bring\u00a0Taylor on board.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are pleased to welcome Joannah to the BPAC and Delta State.\u00a0She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in arts education and arts integration, and we look forward to seeing the impact she will have on our children and the community,\u201d said Howell.<\/span><\/p>\n Taylor graduated from\u00a0Delta State in 2011\u00a0with a bachelor\u2019s in\u00a0arts education.
