Join Teri P. Fleming, senior investigator and outreach coordinator for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission,\u00a0at the Equal Pay Forum\u00a0April 14 at 6 p.m. in the Delta State University Alumni House. The discussion will focus on pay equity and equal opportunities for women.<\/p>\n

The event, free and open to the public, \u00a0is sponsored by the American Association of University Women, the QEP and Gender Studies Group. Refreshments will be served and participants are asked to wear red in support of equal pay for women.<\/p>\n

According to the AAUW, women earn 22 percent less than men. In response, a number of local restaurants are offering a 22 percent lunch discount on April 14 from 11 a.m-2p.m. Participating restaurants include: Airport Grocery, Christina’s Exquisite Edibles, Country Platter, The Senator’s Place and Sweets BBQ Kitchen.<\/p>\n
