The Delta Statement, the student newspaper at Delta State University, has been named one of the finest student newspapers in the South for its online website and its fall 2014 reportage by news editor Conor Bell.<\/p>\n
Recognition was granted\u00a0at the \u201cBest of the South\u201d awards banquet of the Southeast Journalism Conference at Georgia State University in Atlanta on Feb. 27.<\/p>\n
With 33 universities and 500 students competing, The Delta Statement took top ten honors in \u201cBest College Website,\u201d while Bell won \u201cBest Special Event Reporter\/Editor.\u201d<\/p>\n
Elisabetta Zengaro, Statement editor-in-chief, said she was thrilled with the distinctive awards.<\/span><\/p>\n “It is such an honor to have led Delta State to its first SEJC award,” said Zengaro. “I am very proud of the hard work my staff puts in each week and the distinct recognition we were able to bring to DSU.
