Dr. Ann Lotven, Delta<\/span><\/font> <\/span>State<\/span>’s new Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, introduced herself to Ronnie Mayers, Assistant Athletic Director for Special Projects and Director of Aquatics, during a “Welcome Reception” held in Lotven’s honor Wednesday afternoon. Lotven will begin her work on the <\/span><\/span>Cleveland<\/span><\/span> campus, <\/span><\/span>Monday, Feb. 4, 2008<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Dr. Ann Lotven, Delta State University’s new Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, enjoyed Wednesday’s “Welcome Reception” held in her honor inside the atrium of Kent Wyatt Hall on campus. <\/font><\/p>\n

She and her husband, Dr. Brian Lotven, a consultant on education leadership, had the opportunity to meet and mingle with <\/span>Delta<\/span>State<\/span> faculty, staff, students, as well as well-wishers from the community during the afternoon reception. <\/span><\/div>\n

Lotven was announced as <\/span>Delta<\/span>State<\/span>’s next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs earlier this month, following a four-month search that included over 30 candidates. <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
She comes to DSU from <\/span>Texas<\/span>A&M<\/span>University<\/span> – <\/span>Texarkana<\/span>, where she has served as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs since 2004. Previous positions include Dean of the <\/span>College<\/span> of <\/span>Education<\/span> at <\/span>Oklahoma<\/span>State<\/span>University<\/span> from 1995 to 2004, Associate Dean for Administration at <\/span>Texas<\/span>Tech<\/span>University<\/span> from 1990 to 1995 and Professor of Education at <\/span>Texas<\/span>Tech<\/span>University<\/span> from 1976 to 1995.<\/span><\/div>\n

Lotven will begin her tenure with <\/span>Delta<\/span>State<\/span> next year. An official start date of Monday, Feb. 4 has been set. <\/p>\n
