Havard is the assistant athletic trainer now in her\u00a0second year at Delta State. She assists in the daily operation of the athletic training program and sports medicine wings of the athletic department.\u00a0She\u00a0assists in the oversight of all sports and student-athletes with primary coverage of softball.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2d2d2d;\">&#8220;Athletic training at Delta State is such a rewarding field for me, as I not only get to assist athletes in recovery from injury and illness, but I also get to witness them succeed both on the field, in the classroom and in the community,&#8221; said Havard. &#8220;Working with the staff and student-athletes at Delta State is truly like working with family, and the Delta has quickly become my home.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Prior to Delta State, she\u00a0served as assistant athletic trainer at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she worked with football, women\u2019s soccer, and track and field.<\/p>\n<p>Havard grew\u00a0up in Meridian before moving to Hattiesburg to pursue a career in athletic training. She\u00a0received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2011 and Masters of Science in Sports Management in 2013\u00a0\u2014\u00a0both from the University of Southern Mississippi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #2d2d2d;\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\">Employee of the Month distinction is given to a staff member who has provided service at Delta State that is considered over and beyond those duties outlined in his or her job description.
