The Delta State University Department of Music presents\u00a0Beth Allmon in her senior recital Oct. 23 at 1:40 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.<\/p>\n
The senior vocal music education major from Southaven is the daughter of Tom and Suzanne Allmon. She\u00a0has been an active member of the Delta State Chorale and Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Nicholaus Cummins, assistant professor of music and director of chorale activities.\u00a0She also studies private voice and pedagogy under the direction of Dr. Chad Payton, assistant professor of music.<\/p>\n
Allmon’s\u00a0recital will explore compositions of several female composers who\u00a0represent various musical eras. These include compositions by Amy Beach, Alma Mahler,\u00a0C\u00e9cile Chaminade, Pauline Viardot and Hildegard of Bingen.<\/p>\n
