{"id":60387,"date":"2014-06-18T14:25:17","date_gmt":"2014-06-18T19:25:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/?p=60387"},"modified":"2014-06-18T14:26:37","modified_gmt":"2014-06-18T19:26:37","slug":"chinese-heritage-museum-receives-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2014\/06\/chinese-heritage-museum-receives-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinese Heritage Museum receives grant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mississippi Delta Chinese Heritage Museum (MDCHM) is the recipient of a $7,000 grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA).<\/p>\n<p>Emily Jones, Delta State archivist and ex-officio with MDCHM, was instrumental in securing the grant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis award will support New York\u2019s H. T. Chen Dance Company\u2019s performance of &#8216;South of Gold Mountain&#8217; that will be held at Delta State University in February of 2015 and will coincide with the celebration of Chinese New Year,\u201d said Jones.<\/p>\n<p>Susan Chow, MDCHM treasurer, was present when Jones was notified of the award.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThanks to Emily, NEFA recognized the importance of this project,\u201d said Chow. \u201cIt\u2019s such an honor to have NEFA support the efforts of MDCHM.
