{"id":57682,"date":"2013-11-08T12:33:18","date_gmt":"2013-11-08T18:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/?p=57682"},"modified":"2013-11-08T12:33:18","modified_gmt":"2013-11-08T18:33:18","slug":"memphis-music-and-bbq-at-the-bpac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2013\/11\/memphis-music-and-bbq-at-the-bpac\/","title":{"rendered":"Memphis: Music and BBQ at the BPAC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cMEMPHIS&#8221; the musical, winner of the 2010 Tony Award for Best Musical, will be showing at the Bologna Performing Arts Center (BPAC) on Nov 24.\u00a0 To get in the\u00a0\u201c MEMPHIS&#8221; spirit, the BPAC is hosting a dinner prior to the show to give attendees a fun taste of Memphis style barbeque.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 264px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"    \" title=\"Ubons pic\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/images\/univ_relations\/2013 Releases\/ubons-pic.jpg\" width=\"254\" height=\"190\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Award-winning BBQ cooking team Ubon\u2019s will provide dinner before the performance of \u201cMEMPHIS&#8221; the musical at the BPAC on November 24.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The BPAC is teaming up with award-winning Ubon\u2019s Barbeque of Yazoo to offer theater patrons a new twist on pre-show dining. Ubon\u2019s will offer $15 plate dinners that feature a pulled pork sandwich, Polk\u2019s sausage, three sides, dessert and a drink. Since 1989, Ubon\u2019s has won 29 Grand Championships for their barbeque. At the annual Memphis in May BBQ World Championships, Ubon\u2019s has had one first place, three top-3 and 10 top-10 finishes.<\/p>\n<p>BPAC patrons are encouraged to partake in this special pre-show dinner. The meal will be served outside of the BPAC from 4:30-6:15 p.m., and the show will begin at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t miss out on the hit Broadway musical and award-winning barbeque in one special night at the BPAC! Tickets for\u00a0\u201cMEMPHIS&#8221; the musical and the pre-show BBQ dinner can be purchased by calling the Ticket Office at (662) 846-4626.
