The Leaders of Delta Health &amp; Wellness, in conjunction with <\/SPAN><SPAN>Delta<\/SPAN><SPAN> <\/SPAN><SPAN>State<\/SPAN><SPAN> <\/SPAN><SPAN>University<\/SPAN><SPAN>, are sponsoring a Breast Cancer Awareness Forum, Tuesday, Oct. 10 in the Simmons Room of the Hugh Ellis Walker Alumni House on the DSU campus. For more information call, please call (662) 846-4842.<\/SPAN><\/TD><\/TR><\/TABLE><\/P><P>In a collaborative effort between <SPAN>Delta<\/SPAN><SPAN> <\/SPAN><SPAN>State<\/SPAN><SPAN> <\/SPAN><SPAN>University<\/SPAN><SPAN> and the Leaders of Delta Health &amp; Wellness, a Breast Cancer Forum will be held Tuesday, October 10 in the Simmons Room of the Hugh Ellis Walker Alumni House on the DSU campus, with two sessions scheduled. The morning session will run <\/SPAN><SPAN>9 a.m. \u2013 11 a.m.<\/SPAN><SPAN>, while the afternoon session is planned for <\/SPAN><SPAN>1 p.m. \u2013 3 p.m.<\/SPAN><SPAN> <\/SPAN><\/P><P><SPAN>The forum, comprised of three breast cancer survivors and three healthcare panelists, will allow attendees to not only hear uplifting stories of survival, but to ask questions on how to safeguard against the disease, including early detection. <\/SPAN><\/P><P><SPAN>\u201cThe statistics are terrifying when you think one out of every eight women will or have been diagnosed with some form of breast cancer in their lifetime. That\u2019s the reason our group wanted to plan this event \u2013 it\u2019s necessary. It\u2019s necessary to get out information on prevention, early detection and the importance of self-examinations,\u201d explained <\/SPAN><SPAN>Rori Herbison<\/SPAN><SPAN>, Chair of Leaders of Delta Health &amp; Wellness and Director of University Relations at <\/SPAN><SPAN>Delta<\/SPAN><SPAN> <\/SPAN><SPAN>State<\/SPAN><SPAN>. <\/SPAN><\/P><P><SPAN>\u201cBut, more than that, it\u2019s necessary to get out the message, that you can survive this. You can fight, and that\u2019s the message our panelist want to share. We have a dynamic group of speakers and are hopeful all those who attend leave feeling informed, even inspired.\u201d<\/SPAN><\/P><P><SPAN>The event, in conjunction with <\/SPAN><SPAN>Delta<\/SPAN><SPAN> <\/SPAN><SPAN>State<\/SPAN><SPAN>\u2019s newly announced theme for the year, \u201cHealth &amp; Wellness in the Delta,\u201d will be moderated by <\/SPAN><SPAN>Delta<\/SPAN><SPAN> <\/SPAN><SPAN>State<\/SPAN><SPAN>\u2019s First Lady, <\/SPAN><SPAN>Pat Hilpert<\/SPAN><SPAN>. <\/SPAN><\/P><P><SPAN>Light refreshments will be provided. The committee is currently recruiting energetic members to aid in the planning process of this event.
