\"Dr.Dr. Douglas Mark, assistant professor of low brass at Delta State University, will present a trombone recital at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center on the campus.  <\/p>\n

Mark will be assisted by Dr. Jung-Won Shin on piano, and special guest Ms. Anne-Gaëlle Ravetto on violin.<\/p>\n

The program, entitled “An Evening of Trombone Works Old and New,” will include Joseph Jongen’s “Aria & Polonaise for Trombone and Piano,” a transcription of Beethoven’s “7 Variations on a Theme from Mozart’s Magic Flute,” and  a recently composed work entitled “Midday,” by contemporary Italian composer Nicola Ferro.<\/p>\n

The second half of the performance includes “Sonatina for Trombone and Piano” by Dutch composer Jan Koetsier, followed by the North American premiere of Heinrich Thein’s “Pieces Katre for Trombone and Violin.”   <\/p>\n

The evening recital concludes with a work entitled “Deux Danses” by French composer Jean-Michel Defaye.<\/p>\n

The recital is free and open to the public. <\/p>\n
