Borchert Prize in History for &quot;the best dissertation or thesis by a student in the history department.&quot;&nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Verdana\">Sperry is spending the current academic year at Delta State as a visiting assistant professor of history.&nbsp;He is scheduled to receive his Ph.D. in history from CWRU next month.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Verdana\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Verdana\">His dissertation is titled: &quot;Caught &#8216;Between Their Moral and Material Selves&#8217;: Mississippi&#8217;s Elite White Moderates and Their Role in Changing Race Relations, 1945-1956.&quot;&nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, Ohio, has awarded Benjamin Sperry the annual Frank R.
