The Delta State University Department of Social Work hosted the Margaret Tullos Field Symposium April 9.<\/font><\/p>\n

Keynote speaker for the event was Lisa Ray (at left), project coordinator for the Bachelor of Science in Addiction Studies at the University of Central Arkansas. The topic of her address was motivational interviewing and introduction.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
The one day workshop introduced participants to the theoretical foundations of motivational interviewing. Motivational interviewing is a client-centered method for stimulating the client’s motivation to change. Strategies and techniques were explored and participants had an opportunity to practice these techniques during role play. <\/span><\/div>\n

The symposium was held in the Henry J. Jacobs Conference Center of James M. Ewing Hall on the campus.<\/span><\/div>\n
