Delta State University will host The American Association of University Women (AAUW) State Convention Friday, April 16- Saturday, April 17, in the Jacob Conference Center of Ewing Hall on the campus.<\/font><\/p>\n

Terriah Proechel, a representative of CARE, a worldwide humanitarian organization which helps women in poverty, will be the guest speaker during Friday’s dinner at 6 p.m. <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
After dinner, Lecia Imbery, AAUW public policy grassroots coordinator, will bring news from the national organization.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Saturday’s lunch at noon will feature Dr. Myrtis Tabb, Delta State University’s associate vice-president of Finance and Administration<\/span>,<\/span> and long-time AAUW member.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n

April 16: AAUW State Board meeting at 4 p.m.<\/span><\/div>\n
April 17: Business meeting at 11:15 a.m.<\/span><\/div>\n
Presentation of Woman of Achievement Award at 1 p.m.<\/span><\/div>\n
Presentation of new AAUW Mississippi website at 2 p.m.<\/span><\/div>\n

Silent Auction: Opening at 4 p.m. on April 16 and closing at 3:30 p.m. on April 17.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
The cost is $35, which includes Friday night dinner and Saturday lunch.<\/span><\/div>\n

AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. Since 1881, AAUW has been one of the nation’s leading voices promoting education and equity for women and girls. Currently, it has a nationwide network of 100,000 members, 1,300 branches, and 500 college\/university institutional partners. Delta State has had an AAUW branch since 1953.<\/span><\/div>\n
