{"id":1866,"date":"2010-03-19T08:28:30","date_gmt":"2010-03-19T08:28:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2010\/03\/19\/delta-state-university-sponsors-book-signing-for-new-textbook\/"},"modified":"2013-09-09T14:08:10","modified_gmt":"2013-09-09T14:08:10","slug":"delta-state-university-sponsors-book-signing-for-new-textbook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2010\/03\/delta-state-university-sponsors-book-signing-for-new-textbook\/","title":{"rendered":"Delta State University sponsors book signing for new textbook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font size=\"2\">After more than a year of writing and editing by Professors Jerry Robinson, Delta State University<span style=\"color: #1f497d\">,<\/span> and Gary Green, University of Wisconsin, a new textbook&nbsp; entitled&nbsp; &ldquo;Introduction to Community Development: Theory, Practice and Service Learning,&rdquo; has been published by Sage Publications of California. <\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>To celebrate, the Delta State University Division of Social Sciences and the Center for Community and Economic Development, will host a book release and signing reception Friday, March 26, at 2 p.m. at the Center for Community and Economic Development. Light refreshments will be served.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>This new book provides a historical context for Community Development, a theoretical grounding, a critical issues perspective, and the &ldquo;how-to&rdquo; for community development. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>This collection of work was prepared by 31 nationally known authors, five of whom are at Delta State.
