The Center for Community and Economic Development at Delta State University has been designated an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) site for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. 
<\/font><\/p>\n

This program is made possible by a $7500 grant from the National Community Tax Coalition, a project of the Center for Economic Progress in Chicago, Illinois, and through the collaborative partnership of Delta State University’s College of Business and the AmeriCorps*VISTA program. <\/span><\/div>\n
The VITA program will offer free tax help to individuals who earn less than $49,000. Certified IRS volunteers will assist individuals to help with special credits such as, Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, and Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled. <\/span><\/div>\n
In addition to free tax return preparation assistance, this program will offer free financial literacy training.  <\/span><\/div>\n
Tax preparation services will be offered Jan. 25 – Feb.27 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30-6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and  March 1 – April 15 on Mondays from 3:30-6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m.- noon. <\/span><\/div>\n
The VITA tax preparation site is located at the Center for Community and Economic Development at 1417 College Street in Cleveland.<\/span><\/div>\n
