“Saturdays in the Park” volunteers are readying with their paint brushes, glue sticks and tap shoes, as the group preps for this weekend’s coming events in Fireman’s Park. <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Scheduled for Saturday, October 31, the afternoon will feature an “Arts & Music” theme and is expected to run from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
There is an alternate site should inclement weather become an issue. We will move to Wyatt Gymnasium on the campus of Delta State University. <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
There will be collaborative and instructed art activities designed for Pre-K thru 8th<\/sup> grade students, as well as games, treats and balloons. <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Main stage entertainment will begin at 1 p.m. with an African Drumming Group, followed by the wildly popular Mr. Watermelon Head at 1:30 p.m. The Delta Sigma Theta sorority will be sponsoring a “Dancing with the Deltas” fitness fun routine at 2 p.m. <\/span><\/div>\n

Also on the line-up, the Delta Music Institute will get feet tapping at 2:30 p.m. <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
“We are looking forward to another great event,” Chair of the Health, Physical Education & Recreation Department at Delta State University, Tim Colbert offered. “The community has been so supportive throughout, and we really think we’ve got another dynamite program planned.”<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
“Saturdays in the Park” is a collaborative effort between Delta State University’s College of Education and its Health, Physical Education & Recreation Department, in cooperation with the Division of Family & Consumer Sciences, the Center for Community and Economic Development, the Cleveland School District, the Cleveland Park Commission and the Leaders of Delta Health & Wellness. <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
The event is officially recognized by the Healthy Campus\/Community Initiative and Blue Cross\/Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
The events are free and open to all ages.  <\/span><\/div>\n
