The program year will begin as early as January 2010 for some of the programs.<\/font><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">&ldquo;These forums are designed so that non-profit organizations in Delta communities can learn about AmeriCorps funds and how their organizations can benefit from hosting AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps*VISTA members,&rdquo; said Deborah Moore, Director of the Center for Community and Economic Development at Delta State University. <\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">AmeriCorps, founded under the Clinton Administration, was championed by President Bush after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks as a way for Americans to serve their country and communities at home.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">&ldquo;National service programs have become popular to many non-profit organizations which are finding their grant funds decreasing.
