Delta State University’s Delta Center for Culture and Learning recently lead several groups on a heritage tour to various locations across the Delta.  <\/font><\/p>\n

Terry Hunt, a teacher from North West High School in Jackson, brought her class to visit Po’ Monkey’s Lounge and Dockery Farms.   <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
German television company, WDR-TV, worked with the Mississippi Development Authority to film the Mississippi River, the Tunica River Park, Dockery Farms, and a performance at Po’ Monkey’s by bluesman Louis "Gearshifter" Youngblood.  <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
The Mississippi Development Authority sent a group of nine professional travel writers to write articles that promote the Mississippi Blues Heritage Trail and other aspects of the Delta’s cultural and artistic heritage once the tour was completed.  <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
The writers group visited the David “Honeyboy” Edwards marker in Shaw, Dockery Farms, the W. C. Handy marker at the Cleveland Courthouse,  the Peavine Railroad marker in  Boyle, Po’ Monkey’s Lounge, and the Crosstie Arts and Jazz Festival in Cleveland. The tour ended at the Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale. <\/span><\/div>\n
