{"id":1068,"date":"2009-02-26T08:00:33","date_gmt":"2009-02-26T08:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2009\/02\/26\/delta-state-establishes-confidential-assessment-response-team\/"},"modified":"2013-09-03T12:55:18","modified_gmt":"2013-09-03T12:55:18","slug":"delta-state-establishes-confidential-assessment-response-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/news-and-events\/2009\/02\/delta-state-establishes-confidential-assessment-response-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Delta State Establishes Confidential Assessment Response Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>In 2008 the Mississippi Board of Trustees of the Institutions of Higher Learning mandated that each of the eight public institutions under its charge create a response team of faculty and staff to improve the communication concerning students who need to be confidentially assessed.&nbsp; This decision was made in response to the Virginia Tech incident.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, Delta State University established the Confidential Assessment Response Team (CART), a proactive tool for the confidential reporting of changes in behavior, actions, and\/or distresses. <\/p>\n<p>Faculty, staff, and students assist the CART team by identifying those students they feel may be in need of assessment.
