School<\/SPAN><\/B> of <\/SPAN><\/B>Nursing<\/SPAN><\/B> expecting important visitors<\/SPAN><\/B><\/P> <\/P> Delta<\/SPAN> <\/SPAN>State<\/SPAN> <\/SPAN>University<\/SPAN>\u2019s <\/SPAN>School<\/SPAN> of <\/SPAN>Nursing<\/SPAN> is expecting important visitors when the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) team calls for a reaccredidation review of their Masters Program on October 3-5.<\/SPAN><\/P> <\/P> \u201c<\/SPAN>Delta<\/SPAN> <\/SPAN>State<\/SPAN> <\/SPAN>University<\/SPAN> was the first nursing program in <\/SPAN>Mississippi<\/SPAN> to be accredited by CCNE,\u201d said Dr. Lizabeth L. Carlson, Dean of the <\/SPAN>School<\/SPAN> of <\/SPAN>Nursing<\/SPAN>. \u201cThe CCNE accredits baccalaureate and graduate programs of nursing by evaluating and make judgments about the quality of these nursing programs. The commission serves the public interest by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices in the preparation of nurses. Accreditation by the CCNE indicates that the public can have confidence in the quality of the nursing program.\u201d <\/SPAN><\/P> <\/SPAN><\/P> The <\/SPAN>School<\/SPAN> of <\/SPAN>Nursing<\/SPAN> has also maintained state accreditation through the State Board of Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) since the start of both the undergraduate (1977) and graduate (1995) programs. <\/SPAN><\/P> <\/SPAN><\/P> Interested parties are encouraged to submit comments to the CCNE about the Delta State University School of Nursing Graduate Program. CCNE will accept \u201cwritten and signed third-party comments until 30 days before the visit or <\/SPAN>September 3, 2005<\/SPAN>,\u201d Dean Carlson quoted from the CCNE directives.
